Who Will Weep? Ah, life!!! The most precious gift given to us by our Lord God, the Omnipotent the Great I AM who knitted each one of us in our mother’s womb. The wondrous mystery of God creating us in His image. On September 4th I attended the Wyandotte Olathe Pregnancy Center’s event and yes, we are doing great work, saving lives and building families. And praise God for this work!!! Yet in arrogance and rebellion against God and our lack of boldness to stand against the darkness of evil, Kansas has again become the killing fields in the heinous crime of abortion, the premeditated taking of the life of the most vulnerable, the least among us, children ripped from what should be the most sacred, safe place for a child, their mother’s womb. This is a great tragedy chronicled in the 2023 KDHE statistical report: 19,467 babies’ lives were cruelly ended; 19,467 babies were purposely and for profit killed. The great lie of choice has so dulled the sense of right and wrong that there was no outcry, no anguish, no call for action even from our pulpits when this statistical report revealed that 36 of the 19,467 abortions were performed on girls 10-14. 23 were from out of state. Only 6 were referred for investigation. The tragedy of abortion and the tragedy of 36 girls left alone with no advocate in this killing field is stunning. Has Kansas become complicit in child sex trafficking? Has our silence made each of us complicit? My friend, Lisa Weinand, is a fearless sidewalk counselor outside the Planned ending of Parenthood facility here in Johnson County. She is why I knew about the KDHE report and she is why I wrote my first column on this issue in January 2025. I thought that if I wrote about the 36 girls all under the age of consent, surely an outcry would ensue and action would be taken to at least demand that every abortion performed on girls under 16 would be REQUIRED to be investigated. I sent my column out to 67,000 people, I talked to legislators, I talked to whoever would listen, I alerted the Archdiocese of KCK…silence, too controversial? Are we so cowered in fear of the pro death mob that even our clergy will not speak to the horror among us?? Are we so battered from our loss of the Value Them Both vote that we have lost our voice??
Since January in my travels across Kansas, I have found only two pastors who are willing to stand and preach about this abomination, Pastor Josh Turk in De Soto and Pastor Kyle Evans in Scott City. Pastor Evans, with other community leaders, have organized a community event on October 30th for me to speak about this heinous Kansas public policy (along with other topics) which has made Kansas the ABORTION DESTINATION in a sea of pro-life states. The venue is at 212 E 5th St., Scott City, the Child Advocacy Center. Boldness, we must find our courage and paraphrasing Isaiah 40:31 we will renew our strength in the LORD, will mount up and soar as on wings of eagles, we will run and not grow weary, we will walk and not grow faint in our fight for the precious gift of life.
