In Kansas, While the Babies Die, WOKE/DEI Social Justice Warriors Thrive, Keep Kansas Strong - Charlotte O'Hara for Governor

In Kansas, While the Babies Die, WOKE/DEI Social Justice Warriors Thrive

Well, Kansas is indeed entering into a very dark space with Democrat gubernatorial candidate, Cindy Holscher, on the ballot. In January 2023, she slammed Senator Mike Thompson (R) for introducing legislation to criminalize drag queen shows for children (SB 149) and in March 2023 on X she responded to a question which asked if she was suggesting Jesus was a transgender:

Meanwhile, the Good Faith Network (GFN) which is heavily sponsored by the Church of the Resurrection and their pastor Adam Hamilton, has gained favor with Archbishop McKnight. He is “encouraging” parishes to join GFN, including my parish St. Michaels the Archangel. This is the same Archbishop who silenced parish priests from supporting the YES vote on the direct election of our State Supreme Court Justices.

The Good Faith Network is a leftist social justice group with ties to philosophers Saul Alinsky (“Rules for Radicals”) and Alicia Garza co-founder of Black Lives Matter.

Father Brian Schieber, in an email to me, confirmed that St. Michaels has indeed joined the Good Faith Network, a den of leftist activists.

Father Brian stated, “In regard to the Good Faith Network, Archbishop McKnight and the Archdiocese encouraged support and we will not be participating in anything contrary to our faith. It’s true that the GFN includes a network of Christian churches some of whom hold contrary views to the Catholic Church.  The good news of us being involved is we can bring our Catholic values and outlook to the table. We will not be participating in anything contrary to the faith.  The GFN steers clear of any hot button issues.  We will be focusing together as a community on how we can help the poor.  This is a gospel mandate!Charlotte you are welcome to come to any meeting of the GFN to see for yourself.”

Father Brian, thank you for the invitation, however, I don’t believe you have looked under the hood of GNF or the umbrella group DART (Direct Action and Research Training Center – https://thedartcenter.org), I have. Also here is a link to a DART reorganization paper by Anna S. Long: https://digitalcollections.sit.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=4335&context=capstones

And yes, currently GFN steers clear of public support of LGBTQ issues. However, co-president of GFN, Ali Haynes, pastor of Indian Hills United Methodist Church has this inset on their website.  All but one of the six member GFN leadership team have LGBTQ friendly messages on their church websites. Slightly contrary to Catholic teaching.

So, while Social Justice Protestant Churches and now some Catholic Parishes are active in the leftist political arena, our conservative Protestant Churches and conservative Catholic Parishes have very, very few pastors or priests who find voice to even encourage their congregations to vote, much less urge their congregations to vote YES on a constitutional amendment such as the direct election of our Kansas State Supreme Court Justices!! Hats off to Pastor Josh Turk, Philadelphia Baptist Church, De Soto and Pastor Kyle Evans, First Baptist Church, Scott City for their willingness to guide their congregations to vote for LIFE!!!

Looking at our history, pastors have traditionally been active in the political arena. During the Revolutionary War, two brothers of the cloth are shining examples, Reverend John Peter Gabriel Muhlenberg and Reverend Frederick Augustus Muhlenberg. John Peter’s farewell sermon to his congregation in Woodstock, Virginia as he prepared to join the Continental Army in 1776 closed with this, “In the language of the Holy Writ, there was a time for all things (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8) a time to preach and time to pray, but those times have passed away.” And pointing to verse 8 he proclaimed, “There is a time to fight – and that time has come.”

John Peter’s brother, Fredrick was not so sure that a pastor should join the physical battle, but his opinion changed when the British, in 1777 entered New York City and burned 10 of the 19 churches. They drove Rev. Frederick Muhlenberg from his church and desecrated the building. Frederick entered the fray, not as John Peter, who became a Major General, but as the first Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, his signature is on our Bill of Rights.

But what about the vast majority of our conservative clergy? Spineless cowards in the face of Satan, now clothed in the social justice infiltrating our churches. It’s up to US – the laity – to put the feet of our pastors and priests to the fire and demand the clergy both Catholic and Protestant take up the mantle of LIFE.  How can we pray that God will bless America while babies are sacrificed to the pagan god of convenience, as our clergy look away in silence?

God Bless and Keep Your Eyes on Jesus!!
