Well, here in Goodland, what appeared to be a Republican clown show at the March 1st Republican reorganization meeting now seems to have been far more nefarious in nature. A clown show would have been bad enough, but what I saw first-hand was an orchestrated, no holds barred, full court press, take no prisoners’ cabal to stop any resolutions from being read into the record. Specifically, the resolution that Melissa Campbell wrote and has tirelessly worked to have read and discussed now at two State Republican Party meetings. What in the world is going on??? What or rather whose toes is Melissa stepping on? I was sitting there knowing yes, Melissa was insisting that the state delegates take a hard look at what was going on in a heretofore obscure ethics investigation instead of working like a dysfunctional family insisting that everything is and has always been PERFECT!! But these acrobatics of motions and obfuscation seemed way over the top. Oh, how uninformed I was!!!! Melissa sent me a link to an article while I was watching what I thought was an Abbot and Costello clown show. Oh no, I now know I was watching aput the genie back in the bottle war, better known as a coverup. Good grief, hasn’t leadership in the Republican Party learned anything from Watergate??? The coverup is worse than the underlying alleged violations. And it gets worse…from the Kansas Reflector: Kaitlyn Bull-Stewart, general counsel for the ethics commission, warned in testimony that House Bill 2206 would turn “the campaign finance arena into a free for all” by legalizing the very activity that is under investigation. It appears Topeka Republican leadership is pulling out all stops to legalize an alleged big oops inviolating campaign finance law. To the Big Boys in the Republican Party, here is my opinion: you have really stepped in it this time. |
