CNANO Technology…China In Our Backyard

I have been reading with great interest the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) fury in blocking the sale of 43 ports worldwide from Hong Kong based Chinese company, CK Hutchison Holdings to Blackrock, a U.S. Company.  Included in this sale are two ports leading into the Panama Canal which Trump has stated, gives China control of the Canal.

According to news reports, the CCP sees this $22.3 billion sale as a threat to their global agenda: the Belt and Road Initiative.  Currently Chinese companies control 93 ports giving them tactical support points worldwide, validating Trump’s assertions.

Nearly all experts agree that all Chinese Companies worldwide are controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Mary Kissell, (Former Senior advisor to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo; former Wall Street Journal Editorial Board Member) stated in her October 2024 testimony before the House Oversite Committee that, “[t]here are no independent Chinese companies.”  She further explained, “Every economic activity accrues to the Party’s benefit, and the Party’s goal is to upend our way of life and to dominate and change our way of life.”

So why am I, here in Kansas, the middle of the U.S.A. so interested in China’s global chess game of world dominance?  Well, shockers of shock, the “game” came to our backyard at New Century Air Center, June 1, 2023. On that date the JoCo Board of County Commissioners approved (I was the only no vote) a $34 million Industrial Revenue Bond (IRB) for Cnano USA. According to their website they are the first American operation of Jiangsu Cnano Technology, located in Jiangsu, China.

I want to note, this information of direct Chinese ownership was not revealed to the JoCo Board of County Commissioners.

This “economic incentive” sets their property tax bill at 30 cents per square foot with a 1% annual increase cap. How would you like that deal for your home???  For a 2,000 sq. ft. home that would be $600.00 per year total property tax bill with a 1% annual increase cap!!!  SWEET!!!

The Cnano 333,000 sq. ft. building has been setting empty for 22 months.  The great hullabaloo of Cnano USA providing nano tubes to the Panasonic Lithium Battery Plant in De Soto has evaporated as quickly as morning’s mist.

The question: what is a Chinese company, who apparently paid cash for this property (according to county filings) doing with an empty 333,000 plus sq ft building in New Century Air Center?  Whatever the Chinese Communist Party wants them to.
