Well, here in the heart of Red Country our governor, Laura Kelly, who is also the chair of the Democrat Governors Association (DGA), is leading the charge against President Trump’s calling out of the National Guard to quell the violence in L.A. From the DGA’s statement released June 8th, “President Trump’s move to deploy California’s National Guard is an alarming abuse of power. Governors are the Commanders in Chief of their National Guard and the federal government activating them in their own borders without consulting or working with a state’s governor is ineffective and dangerous.” Really? Our Kansas governor is siding with the thugs and paid protestors in L.A. burning and looting, while attacking federal ICE agents? Wow, that does not bring warm and fuzzy feelings of security for her Kansas constituents. Let’s see, California is a sanctuary state, L.A. is a sanctuary city (both in conflict with federal law), federal agents are carrying out deportation orders, the streets are on fire, President Trump called Governor Newsom on June 6th at 10:30 p.m. (California time) contrary to Governor Newsom’s allegations that President Trump did not call him, L.A. Mayor Karen Bass on June 10th ordered a curfew from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and Governor Kelly is castigating Trump for calling out the National Guard? She has sided with the violent thugs! Suddenly she has become a State’s Rights advocate? From the WSJ, June 11th edition, Mayor Karen Bass stated, “The curfew is a necessary measure to protect lives and safeguard property…” Police Chief Jim McDonnell, “Since Saturday, we’ve seen a concerning escalation…” He went on to state that nearly 200 people were arrested on Tuesday, June 10th, which has as of June 12th, risen to 500. My message to Governor Kelly: please moderate your hatred of President Trump, get your priorities straight, you were elected to serve and protect the good people of Kansas, not to fly the Mexican flag and protect thugs in L.A.
