Mideast, Mid-Terms, Clem Kadiddlehoppers and Kansas, a Sanctuary State

Well, what a bucket full of troubles we have halfway around the world. The Yemen Houthis this past week captured the Red Sea port city of Mocha and the Island of Perim. This made us look like Clem Kadiddlehopper bumbling around compounded by a drone attack closing the Saudi oil pipeline, which daily pumped up to 7 million barrels of oil across the Arabian Peninsula by-passing the Strait of Hormuz. UGH!!! We’ve seen this picture show before.

Republican’s chances in the mid-term elections are extremely impacted by the ongoing conflict and oil crisis in the Middle East. Just ask the supporters of Jimmy Carter’s re-election bid in 1980.  Nice guy, but the hostages in Iran, long lines at the gas stations and SKY-HIGH interest rates spelled his defeat and a landslide victory for Ronald Reagan.

In my opinion the April pause in bombing runs over Iran was a mistake. This pause gave Iran time to rearm and renew their resolve to press forward. The answer now is to unleash our military and get the job done. Mr. President, you started this, end it with decisive action!! Don’t make this another quagmire of an endless war. We’ve had enough…Vietnam, Afghanistan, the Gulf War, etc.

Back to Kansas where we do have some good news!! Federal Judge Holly Lou Teeter (Trump appointee) struck down Kansas’s 2004 law (passed by a Kansas Republican House and Senate) which provided in state tuition for illegal immigrants. As a bonus for the illegals we taxpayers have funded benefits at the local level, such as county health and mental health services, costing you and me $600 million annually. OUCH!!

Yes indeed, this embarrassment could have been avoided if our Clem Kadiddlehoppers of Kansas (Senate President Ty Masterson and Speaker of the House Dan Hawkins) would have forced an override vote on last session’s SB 254 veto by Lefty Governor Laura Kelly. SB 254 would have prohibited ANY public funds from being expended on services for illegals, including in state tuition. Why didn’t Masterson and Hawkins bring SB254 back for an override vote?  Protecting the members of their caucus who didn’t support the measure. The RINOs strike again!!

In addition, dare we Republicans remember our failure to end in state tuition for illegals in the 2011 session?  We passed HB 2145 in the Kansas House (I was the 27th District’s Representative), but the bill stalled in the Kansas Senate. Even though we Republicans had a trifecta controlling the House, the Senate and the Governor’s mansion we could not repeal the in-state tuition for illegals.

But not to worry, the Republicans will ATTEMPT to throw all the blame on Governor Kelly. However, both parties have a portion in this feast of idiocy costing the good people of Kansas BILLIONS of dollars over 22 years. Remember the Democrats want illegals for voters and the Republicans, owned by the State Chamber and Koch Industries, want cheap labor.  A Uni-Party issue made in political heaven!!

But, riding to the rescue, the Trump’s DOJ filed a lawsuit against supposedly RED, RED, RED Kansas to stop this illegal activity and won!!!  Most likely, the ACLU will file an appeal, (Lefties, good luck with that one) so it appears this $600 million hole in the Kansas budget bucket will be partially repaired. BUT the spigot is still full on with other services provided to illegals. This will require another SB 254 type of legislation to fully stop all services to illegals and bring to a close Kansas being a sanctuary state.

Now does Trump have the political courage to end the Iran War. We’ll see…
