Well, well, well—the Kansas GOP leadership has certainly been busy building walls. Not walls to defend truth, but walls to silence it. The truth is this: the Republican Party has fallen far short of being the robust conservative, pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, small-government, property tax-cutting, free-market advocate Kansas desperately needs. Today, Kansas is:
If GOP leadership truly cared about solving these problems, it would welcome all Republican gubernatorial candidates to their Winter Meeting debate in January 2026—and to the three additional debates planned. Instead, they’ve built a high wall of exclusion: requiring 800 individual contributions of $100 or more just to participate. This ridiculous rule shuts down discussion of critical issues and devalues contributions under $100. Recently, I received a contribution of $10.41 from a single working mother—a patriot who gave all she could. I value her sacrifice far more than the $4,000 contribution I received the very same day. How dare the Kansas GOP forget the parable of the widow’s mite—the poor woman who gave her last penny at the Temple. To make matters worse, the GOP debate contract requires candidates to pledge support for the eventual primary winner, with no exception for those who are pro-choice or anti-Second Amendment. I have contacted party leadership about this gross oversight. Silence. So, I signed the contract—with one stipulation: if I do not win the primary, I will support the Republican nominee only if that nominee stands for Life and the Second Amendment. I will never compromise on these bedrock principles. Other candidates may be ready to toss aside the foundation of our Party to appease leadership. I am NOT. Strong conservative leadership is NECESSARY to:
What can you do? Contact the Kansas Republican Party and let them know this is unacceptable. They don’t even list a phone number on their website—but you can email them here: Kansas GOP Contact Page. Party “unity” that forces candidates to support the nominee—without requiring that nominee to be pro-life and pro-Second Amendment—is unacceptable. And disqualifying contributions under $100 from debate eligibility? REALLY? The Kansas GOP must do better. Will you stand with me? Please consider contributing $100 or more today so my voice can be heard on the KSGOP debate stage in January 2026. Charlotte O’Hara |
